Remembering Richard Scott Nemrow: A Life Full of Love, Adventure, and Transformation

The community of Lindon, Utah, is mourning the profound loss of Richard Scott Nemrow, affectionately known as “Scott,” who peacefully passed away at his home at the age of 45 on Sunday, July 27th, 2025. His departure leaves a deep void in the hearts of everyone who knew him, yet his legacy of compassion, resilience, and unwavering love continues to inspire all who remember him. Scott’s life was a testament to living with passion and purpose, and his influence will be felt for generations.

A Life Rich in Love and Adventure

Born on April 8th, 1980, Scott’s personality was as vibrant as his spirit was generous. From childhood, he exhibited a natural tendency to care for others, offering his graham crackers to friends or sharing his homework without hesitation. Growing up in Southern California and Utah, Scott’s love for the beach, especially boogie boarding and body surfing with family, helped shape his adventurous and free-spirited nature. His early independence showed when, at just 16, he bought his first car—a modest Chevy Nova—and began exploring the world with curiosity and courage.

Throughout his youth, Scott balanced work and play, holding jobs at local eateries, sports stores, and even on a farm. His resilience and determination saw him graduate from Timpview High School in 1998, famously earning his diploma after a final task of cleaning baseball dugouts. Later, Scott served a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Frankfurt, Germany—a transformative experience that deeply influenced his values and outlook on life.

A Heart Full of Love for His Family and Faith

Scott’s greatest joy came from his family. He married Anjerie Jarman in the Salt Lake Temple, and together they celebrated the birth of four daughters—Avrie Jean, Cynthia June, Faye Ann, and Tess Anjerie—who brought immense happiness into his life. After their divorce, Scott faced personal struggles but found renewed hope and love when he married Jenni Mella Miller, embracing her children Christian and Ellery, and later welcoming his beloved daughter Scottie Quinn. His devotion to his children—both biological and step—was unwavering, and he was their biggest cheerleader, adventurer, and protector.

In recent years, Scott experienced a profound spiritual awakening, strengthening his relationship with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. This transformation brought him peace and a renewed sense of purpose, inspiring those around him with his unwavering faith and positive outlook. Whether organizing family adventures, cheering for his favorite team, or strumming his guitar to write music, Scott approached life with enthusiasm and a desire to uplift others.

A Legacy That Will Never Be Forgotten

Scott is survived by his loving wife Jenni, his children, his parents Norm and Cindy Nemrow, and siblings Christy (Briggs), Stephen, David, and Peter. A heartfelt memorial service will be held to honor his life, with loved ones gathering to celebrate his legacy of love, kindness, and resilience.

Scott’s passing leaves a void in the hearts of many, but his spirit continues to inspire. His life was a shining example of living with passion, faith, and a generous heart. As his loved ones reflect on his remarkable journey, they find comfort in knowing that his memory will forever
