A Bright Light Extinguished Too Soon: Honoring the Life of Chloie Schliesman
It is with unimaginable sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of Chloie Schliesman, age 17, of Arlington, South Dakota, who departed this world on July 30, 2025. Chloie’s life, though brief, left an indelible mark on her family, friends, and the entire Watertown–Arlington community. A funeral service celebrating her life will take place on August 6, 2025, at the Arlington School multipurpose gym, with visitation beginning one hour before the service.
Chloie was more than just a student, a daughter, or a friend—she was a spark of light, joy, and kindness in every life she touched. Her beautiful smile, infectious laughter, and generous heart made her a beacon of hope and comfort for so many. She had dreams that stretched beyond the horizon and a soul that radiated warmth far beyond her years.
A Life of Promise, A Heart Full of Love
Chloie was a beloved daughter, sister, and classmate, whose days were filled with compassion, energy, and purpose. Whether excelling in school, participating in extracurriculars, or simply spending time with friends and family, Chloie gave every moment her full heart. She was known for her gentle spirit, quick wit, and unwavering loyalty to those she loved. Her ability to lift others, even when facing her own challenges, was a gift to everyone around her.
She dreamed of making the world a better place—perhaps as a teacher, an artist, or an advocate for those in need. Though her future has been tragically cut short, the values she lived by—kindness, empathy, and integrity—will continue to ripple outward through those she inspired.
Her absence is a wound that will never fully heal, but her presence in our lives was a blessing we will always cherish.
