The close-knit community of South Edmeston, New York is mourning the heartbreaking and unexpected loss of Shawn Loomis, a devoted husband, father, and friend to many.
Shawn was known for his unwavering love for his family, his strong work ethic, and his down-to-earth personality. He was a proud graduate of New Berlin Central School, which he attended until 1993, and he built a life grounded in dedication, humility, and care for those around him.
Most recently, Shawn worked at Thilburg Timber, beginning in December 2023, where he was admired by his coworkers for his reliability and hard work. Whether on the job or at home, Shawn gave his all — never one to shy away from helping a friend or stepping up when it mattered most.
Since April 2011, Shawn shared a loving marriage with his wife, Ashley Loomis, with whom he built a beautiful life and family. Those who knew Shawn knew how deeply he loved his role as a husband and father. His family was his greatest pride and joy.
The loss of Shawn Loomis has left a profound void in the lives of all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered not only for his contributions to the community but for the kindness, strength, and loyalty he showed every day.
