Aaron Ramirez dies in fatal near Patterson car crash
Fatal near Patterson car crash death of Aaron Ramirez
According to official reports, the remains of the minor were located near the California Aqueduct on Friday morning. Authorities confirmed the discovery around 7 a.m., indicating the body was found downstream from the initial collision site.
Officials from the California Highway Patrol stated that the minor was initially reported missing following the fatal vehicular incident that occurred near Sperry Avenue. The event involved an SUV veering off Interstate 5 and entering the water supply channel.
Emergency response teams managed to retrieve the sport utility vehicle from the water on Tuesday, but officers discovered only the driver deceased at that time. Subsequent inquiries revealed the presence of a 15-year-old passenger who was not initially accounted for, prompting a search operation.
The search initiative concluded successfully on Friday, leading to the recovery of the missing individual. The California Highway Patrol identified both the deceased minor and the driver as members of the Ramirez family, with the 15-year-old confirmed as Aaron Ramirez and the operator as Raul Ramirez.
An ongoing examination by authorities indicates that Raul Ramirez executed an improper lane change, moving right while proceeding northbound on the highway. This action caused the vehicle to leave the designated path, traversing a vegetated area, breaching security barriers, and ultimately colliding with the aqueduct. The condition of alcohol impairment as a contributing factor remains undetermined at this point.
