Fatal Tucson car crash death of Santiago Mateo Guzman
Tucson authorities announced the identity of a person killed in a serious road accident on the city’s southern side. The nineteen-year-old Santiago Mateo Guzman passed away due to his injuries on August 7th. This occurred following a one-car accident that took place three days earlier on August 3rd.
Tucson Police Department indicated the incident began at approximately 8:30 p.m. near the South Nogales Highway area.
Emergency personnel reported that Guzman and a fourteen-year-old male companion suffered serious injuries and were transported to Banner University Medical Center for treatment.
According to the Tucson Police Department, the involved vehicle crossed into the opposite lane of southbound traffic and collided with a traffic signal mast.
Both individuals were secured with seat belts. A team specializing in driving under the influence confirmed the driver was not under the influence of alcohol at the time of the incident.
The Pima County Medical Examiner’s office has informed the police that Guzman succumbed to his injuries.
Law enforcement officials mentioned that the ongoing probe lists speed management as a contributing element in the crash.
