A Gentle Goodbye: Honoring the Life of Jean Marie Webster
Taunton, Massachusetts – With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Marie Webster (Brady) on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at the age of 87. A beloved resident of Whittenton and lifelong member of the Taunton community, Jean passed away at the Lifecare Center of Raynham, surrounded by love and prayer.
Jean’s life was one filled with grace, kindness, and unwavering devotion—to her faith, her family, and to the simple joys that made life beautiful. She was the cherished wife of the late David Joseph Webster, and together they built a life of deep love and shared memories. Born on December 6, 1937, in Haverhill, Massachusetts, Jean was the daughter of the late Regina Catherine (McDonald) and William Brady—values of humility and service were instilled in her from the start.
Her passing leaves an emptiness that is softened only by the incredible legacy she leaves behind—a legacy woven with faith, laughter, and the kind of love that never fades.
A Heart Full of Joy, A Life Full of Meaning
Jean was a woman of quiet strength and radiant joy. Educated in Taunton, she became a dedicated parishioner of St. Jude the Apostle Parish, where her faith found deep roots. For many years, she was a familiar and welcoming face at Putnam’s Hallmark card shop, where her smile became a staple of the store and a gift to every customer who walked through the door.
But beyond her service, it was Jean’s spirit that captured hearts. Her striking blue eyes, always twinkling with warmth, and her beautiful, heartfelt poetry painted portraits of her inner world—gentle, thoughtful, and wise. She danced through life with music in her soul, bowled with laughter, and found her greatest happiness in the company of her beloved family.
She was the kind of person who remembered birthdays, wrote cards that made you cry, and brought a sense of calm just by being near. Jean’s impact wasn’t loud, but it was lasting—quiet ripples of kindness that spread further than she ever realized.
A Final Farewell to a Woman Who Loved Deeply
As Jean joins her beloved David in eternal rest, her family and friends gather to reflect on the richness of her life. Her absence is profound—but so is the love she leaves behind. Whether in her gentle touch, her meaningful words, or the sound of her laughter echoing at family gatherings, Jean’s presence will forever linger.
She will be dearly missed by those who loved her—children, grandchildren, extended family, neighbors, parish members, and countless friends who felt the warmth of her care. A funeral mass and celebration of Jean’s life will be held at St. Jude the Apostle Parish, where prayers will rise in gratitude for the gift of her life.
Jean Marie Webster, may you rest in the arms of the angels. Your memory is our keepsake, with which we will never part. Thank you for loving so fully, for smiling so brightly, and for reminding us all of life’s quiet, sacred beauty.
