Saying Goodbye to a One-of-a-Kind Father
There are moments in life that feel too heavy for words, and today is one of them. Losing my dad, Joseph Levi Hess, has left a void that words will never fill. I’m still trying to process this, still trying to accept that this is real. No amount of preparation, no amount of strength, can ever truly ready you for the moment you lose a parent. He wasn’t just my father—he was my guide, my protector, and my constant source of love. Knowing that he is now at peace and with the Lord is the only comfort I can hold onto in this storm of grief.
A Man Who Defined Family and Strength
Life has its highs and lows, and through every season, we faced them together as a family. That was who my dad was—someone who believed in unity, resilience, and love above all else. He taught me what strength looks like, what it means to fight for your family, and how to keep faith when everything feels uncertain.
He was truly one of a kind. He could light up any room with his presence, make everyone feel loved, and give advice that always came straight from the heart. My mom and I will miss him beyond words, but we know his spirit will live on in us. Every time I look in the mirror, I see his reflection—I was his carbon copy, and that makes me proud beyond measure.
Forever in Our Hearts
To my dad: I promise your legacy will never fade. You will live on in our memories, in our laughter, in every story we share about you. Mom, myself, and your entire “huge” family will carry you with us for the rest of our lives. We will miss you more than words could ever express, and we will love you forever.
To everyone who has reached out—your prayers and love mean the world to us. Please continue to keep our family in your thoughts as we navigate this unimaginable loss. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that heaven gained an incredible soul.
