He began his career helping others as a social worker, then moved into psychotherapy and eventually trained as a post-Kleinian analyst under the esteemed Elizabeth Spillius. He later co-edited Spillius’s papers and contributed significantly to the academic exploration of psychoanalysis and the arts — including remarkable studies on Don Giovanni, King Lear, and Othello.
