Nick Evans, age 29, of Cookeville, Tennessee, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, August 6, 2025. His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of all who knew and loved him, but his memory will continue to shine brightly through the stories, laughter, and love he shared during his time here.
Born in 1996, Nick grew up in the heart of the Upper Cumberland, where his quick wit, easy smile, and kind heart made him a friend to many. From a young age, he had a gift for making people feel comfortable and valued. Whether you met him for the first time or had known him for years, Nick had a way of leaving you with a smile.
Nick’s life was filled with a love for family, friends, and community. He was the kind of person who never hesitated to lend a helping hand, offer words of encouragement, or simply sit and listen when someone needed to talk. His genuine compassion extended to everyone he met, and his friends knew they could always count on him for support and understanding.

He had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life—spending a Saturday afternoon grilling out with friends, cheering on his favorite sports teams, or exploring the backroads of Tennessee with music playing and the windows down. Nick’s adventurous spirit and zest for life were contagious. Those closest to him will remember his sharp sense of humor, his warm laugh, and his ability to make even the toughest days feel a little lighter.
Family was the cornerstone of Nick’s life. He was a devoted son, brother, and uncle, always putting the needs of his loved ones before his own. Holidays, birthdays, and Sunday dinners were sacred to him, and he cherished every opportunity to gather with the people who meant the most to him. His nieces and nephews adored him, not just for his playful nature, but for the genuine love and attention he gave to each of them.

A visitation for friends and family will be held on Sunday, August 10, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home. This will be a time for loved ones to come together, share stories, and honor the life of a remarkable young man.
A graveside service will follow on Monday, August 11, at 11:00 AM at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, Tennessee. Friends and family are invited to attend as Nick is laid to rest in a place surrounded by the hills and fields he loved so dearly.
Nick’s passing is a reminder of how fragile life can be, and how important it is to cherish every moment with the ones we love. Though he is no longer with us in person, his spirit will live on in the countless lives he touched. His laughter, his kindness, and his unwavering love will remain in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know him.
