The Cookeville community is mourning the sudden and heartbreaking loss of Nick Evans, a beloved 29-year-old whose unexpected passing on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, has left family, friends, and loved ones in shock. Nick was the kind of person who could light up a room with his presence, and now, his absence casts a long, painful shadow over those who knew him.
Nick’s death came without warning, a devastating reminder of how fragile life truly is. Known for his infectious laugh, kind spirit, and genuine heart, Nick’s passing feels not only like the loss of a person—but the loss of joy, humor, and hope wrapped in human form.
A Life Built on Love, Laughter, and Loyalty
Born in 1996 and raised in the heart of Upper Cumberland, Nick grew into a man known for his selfless nature and fierce love for his family. He was a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend, the one everyone turned to in both celebration and struggle. Whether hosting backyard barbecues, cracking jokes during football games, or offering a shoulder during hard times, Nick made people feel seen, safe, and loved.
He embraced the simple joys of life—grilling with friends, cruising through Tennessee backroads with music blaring, laughing until tears came. His authenticity made him unforgettable. Nick didn’t need to impress anyone. He was simply real, and that was more than enough.
His playful spirit made him a favorite among nieces and nephews, but it was his loyalty and depth of compassion that made him a rock for his entire family. Holidays were sacred to him, not because of tradition, but because of togetherness. He made sure everyone felt they belonged, always going out of his way to make others feel important.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 10, from 2:00–6:00 PM at Hooper Huddleston and Horner Funeral Home in Cookeville, followed by a graveside service on Monday, August 11, at 11:00 AM at Highland Cemetery in Sparta, where Nick will rest among the rolling hills he loved.
