A Life Built on Love and Family
The Troy community is deeply saddened by the peaceful passing of Kenneth Ray Northam, age 83, at his home on Thursday, August 28, 2025. Born on December 9, 1941, in Dyer County, Kenneth was the cherished son of the late Fred Lee Northam and Maggie Ellen (Edmaiston) Northam Moore, along with his stepfather Buddy Moore. For over six decades, Kenneth shared an enduring love with his devoted wife, Martha Sue (Bramlett) Northam, with whom he celebrated 61 years of marriage.
A man of deep family values, Kenneth took immense pride in his role as a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of love through his daughter, Allison Richardson (Clint); sons, Chad Northam (Lisa) and Scott Northam (Donna); grandchildren, Marcus Marotti (Mason Kopasz), Rayce Northam (Kenzi), Garrett Northam (Danielle), and Meagan Lee Northam; and great-grandchildren, Magnolia, Emirson, and Rhett. His family remembers him not only as a provider and mentor but also as a man whose kindness and dedication enriched every moment shared together.
Builder of Homes, Music, and Dreams
Kenneth was a retired general contractor and owner of Ken’s Construction Company, where he built not just structures but lifelong trust and friendships. Beyond his business, he selflessly gave his skills to Habitat for Humanity, leaving behind homes and hope for countless families in need.
His talents extended far beyond construction. Kenneth’s love for music was unmatched—he could master nearly any instrument, and his voice carried joy to everyone who heard him sing. As a member of several local bands and his church music community, Kenneth’s gift for music uplifted hearts and united people. He also played an active role in the Jackson Area Plectral Society, where he shared his passion for string music with fellow enthusiasts.
A Legacy That Lives On
When he wasn’t working or playing music, Kenneth could often be found restoring antique cars, a passion that made him a proud member of the EZ Rodders Car Club. Friends and family remember him as a man who embraced life with enthusiasm—whether strumming a guitar, building a home, or polishing an antique car, Kenneth poured his heart into everything he did.
Kenneth’s memory will live on through his surviving sisters, Carolyn Moran, Linda Fulcher, Brenda Greene (Dewayne), Sherry Wade (Kevin), and Vicky Stewart Cutler (T.C); his brother, Charles Northam (Barbara); and his many nieces and nephews. He is reunited in eternal rest with his beloved son, Marty Ray Northam, and his brothers, Tommy, Jerry, Larry, and Terry.
