A Cherished Soul: Remembering Trevor Sanders

It is with deep sadness that the East Morgan County Library District announces the passing of Trevor Sanders, a beloved and valued member of our library team. On Monday, August 25, 2025, Trevor’s journey in this world came to an end, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, laughter, and service that touched everyone who knew him.

For over 14 years, Trevor was a vital part of our library family, starting as a teenager shelving books, later serving as a custodian, and most recently as a library clerk and Lab activities coordinator. No matter his role, Trevor gave his best — greeting everyone with a warm smile, a kind word, and a humor that could brighten even the hardest day. He was our go-to person when technology baffled us, and he patiently guided both staff and patrons through challenges with grace and good humor.

A Loss Felt Deeply by the Community

Trevor wasn’t just a colleague; he was a friend, mentor, and a light in our community. His creativity fueled countless programs, and his heart for people turned ordinary moments into cherished memories. He had a gift for making people laugh, sharing stories, and making everyone feel welcome and cared for.

The East Morgan County Library District is deeply grateful to the community for the outpouring of love, condolences, and shared memories. Your kindness during this difficult time has reminded us all of the beautiful connections Trevor helped foster in this town — connections that will continue to bind us even as we grieve.

Honoring the Journey of a Beautiful Life

As one of Trevor’s favorite authors, Brandon Sanderson, wrote: “Death comes to all. But life comes first. Cherish it. Death is the destination. But the journey, that is life. That is what matters.”

Trevor’s journey was one of compassion, humor, dedication, and joy. His presence enriched not only the library but also the hearts of everyone who crossed his path. Though we mourn the loss of a coworker and a dear friend, we are forever grateful for the time we shared and the memories we hold close.
